Despite the challenges of the pandemic, the ILR, in partnership with the University of Florida, successfully conducted our 2021 student research competition focused on aging research.  The competition began with applicants submitting a written abstract detailing their research.  Ten applicants were chosen for the second stage which has typically been a research poster presented to ILR members in-person at Oak Hammock.  This year we had to re-design this, and the applicants had to produce a video ‘poster’ describing their research.  They also had to field ‘chat room’ questions from the audience who viewed these online.  Five finalists were chosen and those individuals had to field questions from a live audience of UF faculty, OH/ILR members, and the award committee.

Judges for this year’s competition were Professor Susan Bluck, Professor Davie Clark, and ILR member Keith Berg.
